Gearing up for global adventure

Have you always been interested in how the global marketplace works? Are you good with languages? Do you enjoy foreign films and the BBC as much as American films and TV? Have you dreamt about working in the Foreign Service? If so, you are well suited for a degree in international studies.

Majoring, or even minoring, in international studies at Susquehanna University will give you a definite advantage in the job market. The Institute of International Education reports that those who study abroad learn additional skills and increase their chances of having a successful career. And Susquehanna University ensures that all international studies students will thrive. Get expert advice from Susquehanna’s Global Opportunities (GO) program and will help you apply for grants and prep for a semester abroad. They also will help you identify and apply for internships while you are studying in the country of your choice.

Attention to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues is becoming increasingly vital in today’s business world. As an international studies degree major, you will naturally work in diverse environments and gain an understanding of and appreciation for other cultures. You will be not just a citizen of Susquehanna University but also a citizen of the world who understands global issues and values cultural differences. Majoring or minoring in international relations is the perfect choice for those who want to do good and raise the level of productive communication around the world. And you will be doing it soon. Nearly all graduates are employed within six months after graduation.
